About the Study

Floreciendo is part of a research study led by the University of Illinois Chicago in collaboration with trusted community partners across the city. The goal of the study is to better understand how culturally grounded, family-based sexual health education can improve communication, knowledge, and health outcomes for Latina teens and their female caregivers.
Floreciendo is currently recruiting Latina teens (ages 14–18) and their female caregivers to participate in a paid research study of the 2-day program focused on sexual and reproductive health. We are excited to connect with families in the Chicagoland area who are interested in strengthening communication, learning about health in a culturally affirming space, and growing together.
Who Can Participate?
Floreciendo is currently recruiting:
Latina teens ages 14 to 18
And their female caregivers (mothers, aunts, sisters, godmothers, or other trusted adult women)
Both the teen and caregiver attend the program together as a pair. No prior experience or health knowledge is required- just a willingness to learn, share, and grow together.
